La Costa del Sol is the favorite European destination for tourists, mainly because we have good weather all year round. Gastronomy is also another major attraction, but in recent times golf tourism has been one of the fastest growing.
Foreigners, especially Europeans, travel to Costa del Sol all year to enjoy this sport. They come here because the chances of playing, thanks to the climate, are very high throughout the year. But they also choose this golf destination because la Costa del Sol has some of the best golf courses in Spain. Hence it has taken the name of the Costa del Golf.
According to Golfboo website and its users, the ranking of the top ten golf courses in la Costa del Sol is as follows:
1 - Finca Cortesin Golf Club
It is considered the best golf course in la Costa del Sol, but also the second in Spain. It is located in the municipality of Casares (Malaga) and it is a 18-hole course.
2 - La Cala Resort - Campo Asia
This field ranks second as best golf course in the Costa del Sol, after Finca Cortesin, according to Golfboo’s golfers community. It has 18 holes and it is located in Mijas.
3 - La Cala Resort - Golf Europe
Third in the ranking is the Asia Golf La Cala Resort, also 18 holes course and located in the heart of the Costa del Sol, in the municipality of Mijas.
4 - La Cala Resort - Campo America
This course also has 18 holes and it is located inside La Cala Resort, Mijas. It was built in 1991.
5 - Aloha Golf
It is one of the oldest courses in la Costa del Sol, specifically it was built in 1975. It is located in Marbella, in the heart of Puerto Banus, and is an 18 hole, par 72, 6,010 meters long course.
6 - Alferini Golf Club - Villa Padierna Resort
It is one of the three fields that make up the Villa Padierna Resort. It is located in Estepona, a few minutes from Marbella, and is an 18 hole, par 73, with a length of 6641 meters and four tees per hole.
7 - Tramores Golf Club - Villa Padierna Resort
The seventh place according to the ranking made by users of Golfboo website is for Tramores Golf Club, another 18-hole golf course Villa Padierna Resort, also located in Estepona.
8 - La Quinta Golf & Country Club
La Quinta Golf & Country Club is a 27-hole course located in the town of Benahavis, near Marbella, and it was built in 1989.
9 - Los Naranjos Golf Club
This 18-hole, par 72, is located in Marbella and was designed by architect Robert Trent Jones.
10 - Santa Clara Golf Marbella
No. 10 in the ranking is for the Santa Clara Golf Marbella, a golf course of 18 holes, par 71, located in Marbella.
As we see, the Costa del Sol brings together in one place a fantastic infrastructure for this sport, besides being a destination with a wide range of leisure, with a really pleasant climate throughout the year and a gastronomy that seduces all the world.
